BHOCP initiated and supported the construction of a new house of Mugabirwe Fayer and her 06 ground-children.
Mugabirwe who is one of the members of women empowerment programme in BHOCP and having some of her ground children in our children’s project.
We got an alarm from Mugabirwe fayer the ground mother that the house was too old with serious damages from the heavy wind that took off some part of the roof leaving the house in a very poor conditions and also dangerous for human occupancy and because it was a rainy season it was likely to fall any time and find themselves homeless.
She told us and explained the story and the we were forced to go and visit her to find that one side of the house had ready fallen off, on this assessment; we worked with her to repair it so that she can stay in for the few days as an emergency work to be done. so a consensus was reached to build a new house with strong walls.
We mobilized funds from our donors to build a new house with the help of the community volunteering to do some work for this family like making the site for the new house and others volunteered to give us building materials like poles and others as we worked hard to provide iron sheets ,windows, doors, nails, labour for the engineers, drinks and food for the workers who came in to help us the house stand.
